  Internet / Web Engineer – Advanced

(Senior Power Platform & SharePoint Solutions Engineer)

Project Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for Extension)

Work Location: Remote

Please note that while this position is fully remote, the candidate must be able to be onsite for the first week for onboarding and equipment assignments. Additionally, the remote status of this position can be revoked at any time and with little to no warning.

Candidate location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.

Hours/Week: 40 Hours

Work Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM

 

  Purpose of the Position / Project Scope

This position is part of an ongoing project to enhance ability to secure, manage, implement, and maintain its SharePoint Online environment , as well as Microsoft Power Platform components (PowerApps, Power Automate, Forms). The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling DSS to meet federal compliance requirements and support programmatic needs efficiently and securely.

 

Project Objectives

  • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the SharePoint Online environment.
  • Implement automation and workflow solutions using Power Platform tools.
  • Support and optimize collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
  • Integrate Microsoft 365 Copilot and implement security protocols (Sensitivity Labels, Retention Policies, DLP, etc.).
  • Provide user support, documentation, and training for platform use and governance.

 

Daily Duties / Responsibilities

The Senior Power Platform & SharePoint Solutions Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Administering and supporting the SharePoint Online environment, Teams, PowerApps, Power Automate, and Forms.
  • Designing and maintaining SharePoint sites (internal and external) aligned to business needs.
  • Creating system design documents, site architecture, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitoring environment health, performance, compliance, and availability.
  • Building and maintaining PowerApps apps and customized SharePoint list forms.
  • Developing automated workflows for approvals, reminders, notifications, and file routing.
  • Designing Dataverse schemas and applying appropriate security roles.
  • Implementing Microsoft 365 Copilot and advanced governance features.
  • Collaborating with security and infrastructure teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure data protection.
  • Creating and managing PowerShell scripts for administration.
  • Supporting incident resolution and troubleshooting complex issues across environments.
  • Documenting solutions and standard operating procedures.
  • Performing after-hours maintenance as needed.

 

 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in SharePoint Online , including architecture, site design, permissions, and lifecycle management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power Platform tools: PowerApps, Power Automate, Forms.
  • Microsoft Teams integration with SharePoint and Power Platform.
  • Strong experience using PowerShell for SharePoint Online administration.
  • In-depth understanding of Azure , Azure AD, Microsoft 365 GCC tenants.
  • Familiarity with M365 Security & Compliance Center , including DLP, RMS/IRM, Sensitivity Labels, Retention Policies.
  • Experience with Dataverse schema design and security roles .
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience working in a government or public sector environment .
  • Familiarity with federal or state compliance requirements.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft 365 Copilot features and configurations.

 

Certifications

  • No specific certifications required; relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.
  • Prioritize candidates who are self-motivated and can work independently in a hybrid or remote environment.
