Dejager Design Inc. is a full-service interior design firm specializing in luxury residential interiors. We are currently looking for an ambitious, driven individual who is passionate about interior design to join our team as a full-time Design Assistant . The Design Assistant will be responsible for supporting our design team and Project Managers. This position will report to a Project Manager.

This is an in-person opportunity and candidates should be available to work in the Beverly Hills office daily, with travel to the Newport Beach office and client homes required. This position requires approximately 25-30% travel time, mostly within Southern California.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate for this position will either be interested in starting a career in interior design or will already have experience in interior design and is looking to further specialize in luxury residential interior design.

You are highly adaptable and flexible and enjoy work that requires frequent shifts in direction. You will have a proven track record for thoughtfully assessing any given situation, anticipating outcomes and taking ownership in order to ensure the most optimal outcome you can. You take direction extremely well, listen well, and proactively communicate status updates on the items you're working on. Above all, you are a team player who thrives in high pressure environments to meet deadlines with enthusiasm, steadiness and calm.

What You'll Do

The primary responsibilities for this position involve a wide variety of support tasks for our design and Project Management teams. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Managing high volume storage inventory in tandem with Studio webware inventory.
  • Coordinating larger pickups and deliveries with third party delivery services from office, storage, workrooms etc.
  • Delivering, returning and picking up items from storage, showrooms, jobsite etc.
  • Contacting vendors regarding specific furniture pieces.
  • Printing and binding documents.
  • Receiving, filing and organizing sample libraries.
  • Scheduling vendor presentations.
  • Registering trade accounts with new vendors, sourcing contacts and company information and managing and updating new vendor contacts in Studio.
  • Relaying new vendor information to the team.
  • Managing and updating contacts in Studio.
  • Organizing and updating digital and physical catalogs, pricelists and books.
  • Creating or updating presentations or decks.
  • Running errands for the design team / Project Manager as needed.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
  • Must reside within Los Angeles, CA, in commuting distance to Beverly Hills.
  • Must have a personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and an ability and willingness to travel between offices and client's sites in Southern California approximately 30% of the time.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in interior design project support preferred; luxury preferred.
  • Tech savvy, skilled with G-Suite, including Google Sheets, Apple Pages, etc. required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salaried, FLSA Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
  • Base Compensation Range: $66,560-$72,000/year + Discretionary Bonuses
  • Paid Time Off: 10 Days Paid Vacation, 6 Paid Holidays and 3 Days Paid Sick Leave + Office Closed between Christmas and New Year's
