Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will play a vital part in our underwriting process, examining new business submissions to ensure eligibility and assessing each application to determine acceptable risk levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Review initial information provided by prospective insured parties and agents.
Prepare quotes while maintaining ongoing communication with prospective insureds and agents until a policy is finalized or a decision is made not to proceed.
Price and rate new submissions according to established guidelines, collaborating closely with the Underwriting Operations Manager.
Build and nurture strong relationships with insureds and agents, ensuring excellent customer service.
Contribute to achieving and maintaining our production goals.
Supervise and assist Underwriting Assistants with endorsement requests that require expert review and ensure the accuracy of bind requests.
Support Renewal Underwriters in evaluating renewals, making necessary revisions, and processing bind requests when needed.
Assist with various administrative tasks to keep our operations running smoothly.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience.
Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent attention to detail.
A college degree is preferred, but not required.
