About American School of Rio de Janerio

Founded in 1937, The American School of Rio de Janeiro (EARJ) occupies two purpose-built campuses in the city: the main hillside campus in Gávea, surrounded by the Atlantic Rainforest and looking down towards the sweeping beaches of Ipanema and Leblon; and the newer Barra campus, built to accommodate the school's continued growth as the city has extended west along the coastline. Both campuses are well located for access to Rio's famous beaches. Our school is an IB World Continuum School offering the PYP, MYP and IB Diploma on both campuses.
