Job Description

Our Home is looking to grow our loyal and driven team and are currently seeking an inspector to join our team of manufacturing professionals on second shift. Our inspector's typical schedule will work Monday - Friday 3PM - 11:30PM. As anInspector this candidate will be primarily responsible to do the last inspection before the product is sent to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that correct tortilla chip is being run and correct seasoning is being used.
  • Visually inspect product as it comes out of the cooling belt and remove all defective product and foreign material.
  • Communicate with the front and back sections of the production line as needed.
  • Notify production Supervisor and/or QC Supervisor of product defects.
  • Taste product regularly for crispness and flavor.
  • Monitor and control spice or salt levels and coverage of the chips in the spice tumbler.
  • Complete hourly product inspection reports detailing: Size and shape of chip, toasts marks present, and thickness of chip.
  • Perform cleaning/purge on seasoning line from previous seasoning used.
  • Perform any other duties as required by Plant Manager, Supervisor or Lead.

Requirements

  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. of seasoning/salt
  • Work in a noisy environment with large machinery
  • Able to work on weekends and OT when needed
  • Comply with all R.W. Garcia safety requirements; and
  • Adhere to all R.W. Garcia policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with R.W. Garcia staff and others contacted in the course of the work.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position.
  • Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.
