Job Description

The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate and build various metal structures and equipment for HVAC installation and other equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
2. Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
3. Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
4. Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
5. Performs assigned work on assembly lines, such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
6. Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
7. Maintains clean and orderly workspace.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
• Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
• Ability to follow directions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship or a three-year in-company training program (preferred).
• Certification (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
