JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for teaching High School Social Studies, including World Civilizations, US History, and/or Social Justice. At Mid-Pacific, the Social Studies faculty is responsible for designing an instructional environment that encourages learning, motivates students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to establish and continue a firm foundation to perpetuate the learning experience post-secondary education and/or career opportunities. Essential to this role is the ability to utilize all resources available to establish a cooperative relationship with parents, colleagues, administrators, and community members to support each student's opportunity to learn and grow in educational and life experiences. This position includes active participation in the school's operation to support our unwavering commitment to the principles of deeper learning. This position reports to the High School Assistant Principal.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies, History, or related field from an accredited university or college. At least two years of teaching experience in high school Social Studies and with a diverse student population is strongly preferred. Previous experience with project-based instruction and/or International Baccalaureate preferred but not required. Preference will be given to candidates with International Baccalaureate and Humanities teaching experiences.
