About the role
Role Overview
The Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for defining, leading, and executing the technology strategy of Swish World Group across all subsidiaries and platforms. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CTO ensures that technology, infrastructure, and engineering efforts align with the Group’s strategic objectives, security requirements, and long-term scalability.
This role combines high-level technical leadership with hands-on architectural oversight in a global, remote-first organisation operating across telecommunications, hosting, SaaS, and digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Architecture
Define and own the Group-wide technology strategy and technical roadmap
Design and oversee scalable, secure, and resilient system architectures across all platforms
Ensure consistency in technology standards, tooling, and architectural principles
Evaluate and adopt new technologies aligned with business objectives
Engineering & Infrastructure Leadership
Lead and coordinate engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps teams across regions
Oversee cloud, on-premise, and hybrid infrastructure environments
Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of all production systems
Guide technical decision-making for new products, services, and integrations
Security, Risk & Compliance
Establish and enforce security best practices across all systems and teams
Oversee cybersecurity strategy, incident response, and disaster recovery planning
Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and industry regulations
Work closely with Legal and Operations on risk management
Delivery & Execution
Translate business requirements into technical execution plans
Oversee software development lifecycles, release management, and quality standards
Balance technical debt reduction with feature delivery and growth needs
Support rapid scaling while maintaining stability and security
Leadership & Culture
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, distributed technical teams
Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and documentation
Act as a senior technical advisor to the CEO and executive leadership
Represent technology at executive, board, and external stakeholder levels

Make sound architectural and security decisions under pressure
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Operate with high autonomy, ownership, and integrity in a remote environment
Requirements
Experience
Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology, or equivalent)
Extensive experience designing and operating large-scale, production systems
Background in telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or platform engineering
Experience leading distributed or remote engineering teams
Demonstrated ability to scale systems and teams in high-growth environments
Skills
Strong system architecture and infrastructure design expertise
Deep understanding of cloud platforms, networking, and DevOps practices
Strong knowledge of security, reliability, and performance engineering
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Clear and effective communication across technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Advanced degree preferred but not required
