Position Overview

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for handling grocery products, including full knowledge of product line and location. The Clerk receives, cuts, marks, transports, and shelves product. The Clerk is also responsible for providing attentive and friendly customer service by assisting customers with questions and escorting customer to service desk for further assistance if needed.

• Complete grocery operations, safety, and sanitation responsibilities in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies
• Maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions, including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating product
• Ensure safe and clean floor conditions, including sweeping, mopping, and clearing all unsafe conditions
• Help keep the backroom clean and orderly by organizing grocery area, and making bales
• Follow direction of the Grocery Manager and MOD, inform appropriate people if any problems arise
• Retrieve carts when needed
• Assist with cashing/ bagging, and performing price checks where applicable

• Special Skills : Accurate vision; Ability to learn, differentiate, and retain information regarding product lines/locations; Ability to provide courteous and friendly customer service; Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Physical abilities: : Occasional amounts of sitting, balancing, and tasting; Frequent amounts of smelling, standing, talking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, feeling; Constant amounts of walking, handling, lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling loads up to 80 lb, and hearing
• Other: : Ability to operate: Baler/Compactor; Electric/Power Pallet Jacks; Walkie Stacker; Case Cutter; Marking Gun
