This role is for an experienced security professional on our Corporate Global Security Team. We are looking for a fast-learner who can work independently and collaborate well with team members!

As a Security Guard in the Global Security (GS) Team you will provide security protection, investigation, resiliency and crisis management services in support of J.P. Morgan Chase, its employees, customers, assets, and facilities throughout the world. This responsibility includes the development of security and safety policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative compliance, Security Guard management, alarm response, branch and corporate building security, customer safety, physical crime investigations, workplace violence, fire and life safety.

Job responsibilities
  • Ensuring the safety and security of critical areas and personnel
  • Inspecting grounds, premise/property and controlling and monitoring access to building
  • Reporting fire and safety hazards and conduct alarm management and emergency response
  • Conduct Counter Surveillance
  • Defusing and de-escalating difficult situations
  • Conduct Special event security

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
  • Must have active NY State Security Guard License
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • Capable of handling the physical requirements of the position (corrected vision at a minimum level of 20/50, able to hear and understand normal conversations at a distance of 10 feet)
  • Practice normal hygiene and personal cleanliness, neat in dress and appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Critical infrastructure security operations, technical security, alarm management, mobile communication and incident reporting applications
  • Customer and Client focus
  • Training in fire safety and crime prevention
  • Associate degree, or US Military background with honorable discharge, AND a minimum of five (5) years prior Security Officer experience
  • Fire Watch Certification - Certificate of Fitness for Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment (F-01) required
