Job Title: Game Designer – Economy, Monetization, & Analytics

Location: Salt Lake City, UT or Remote

Red Games Co. is seeking a talented Game Designer with a strong focus on economy design, monetization strategies, and game analytics to join our team and take our games to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

Game Economy Design

  • Develop and balance in-game economies, including virtual currencies, progression systems, and resource management.
  • Design systems that maximize player engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Create scalable economic models that align with gameplay mechanics and user experience goals.

Monetization Strategy

  • Design and implement monetization features, including in-app purchases (IAP), ad integration, and subscription models.
  • Identify opportunities for player-friendly revenue streams while maintaining game balance and fairness.
  • Collaborate with marketing and live ops teams to optimize sales events, promotions, and offers.

Game Analytics & Data-Driven Design

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ARPU, LTV, DAU, and retention rates.
  • Use player data and analytics tools to identify areas for improvement and iterate on designs to achieve better results.
  • Conduct A/B tests for monetization features and gameplay changes to measure impact.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with artists, developers, and producers to ensure seamless integration of designs into the game.
  • Present designs and analytical insights to stakeholders, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor analysis, and emerging monetization techniques.

Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of game economy design principles and monetization strategies for mobile games.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Unity Analytics, Google Analytics, Game Analytics) and working knowledge of A/B testing.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, and SQL).

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a game designer or a similar role in the mobile gaming industry.
  • Proven track record of designing and optimizing successful monetization features.
  • Experience working on free-to-play (F2P) games is highly preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to balance creative ideas with business objectives.
