Job Description

Are you a creative and skilled freelance photographer with experience in an art or event setting to document a variety of events, exhibitions, and performances at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center? If so, we might have the opportunity for you!  As a freelance photographer, you will have the opportunity to capture dynamic moments, artist showcases, community interactions, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of our ongoing programs. Your work will be used across digital platforms, marketing materials, and in our promotional campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Photograph exhibitions, performances, special events, and artist talks.
  • Capture candid moments during workshops, classes, and community events.
  • Collaborate with the arts center's marketing and events teams to understand visual needs.
  • Edit and deliver high-quality photos in a timely manner, ensuring they align with the center's aesthetic.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a photographer, preferably in an arts or event setting.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous work (please include a link to your portfolio).
  • Proficient in using DSLR or mirrorless cameras, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to capture the essence of an event or exhibition.
  • Knowledge of lighting, composition, and photo editing techniques.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during special events when necessary.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS :   Photo shoots can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending upon the event.  Deadline to submit applications is May 31, 2025.
