Job Description

Rochester Chinese Christian Church (RCCC) is seeking a pastor to lead the English ministry and advance His kingdom here in Rochester, New York. As a non-denominational church since 1983, RCCC has nurtured numerous church leaders around the world. Our goal has been to obey and live out God’s Word in the Bible through worship, discipleship, fellowship, stewardship, and missions. We are seeking a pastor who loves the Lord, loves His church, and has great leadership skills to shepherd His flock with humility.

Position Responsibilities

• Shepherd the congregation of RCCC, with a primary focus on the English-speaking congregants
• Share in the pulpit ministry with other members of the pastoral staff, taking the primary role in the English service
• Provide guidance and leadership in visitation and caring ministries.
• Support, develop, and disciple leaders/teachers within RCCC’s various English-speaking Bible study, Sunday School, and small groups
• Provide spiritual leadership and administration of church affairs as a member of the church Board
• Provide leadership and direction for English fellowship and prayer ministries
• Provide pastoral counseling as needed
• Provide leadership, guidance and high-level plans in carrying out the great commission (missions / outreach) through individuals and co-worker teams.

Essential Abilities & Skills

• Able to preach a sermon from the Bible in an applicable, relatable fashion, in addition to exposition of the Truth
• Able to teach Bible studies and Sunday Schools
• Strong leadership skills to encourage and motivate the English congregation to abide in God’s Word and to engage in church ministries
• Able to communicate matters and issues in an effective, loving, loving fashion
• Godly discernment of the needs of the church and congregants.
• Self-motivated and self-initiated

Additional Abilities & Skills

• Comfortable ministering in a diverse, Chinese culture and environment
• Exposure to leading worship, able to occasionally sing or lead songs
• Lead or participate in evangelistic initiatives, including local missions and short-term mission trips
• Willing and open to obtaining further self-development and learning for the benefit of the church
