Summary

We are seeking a motivated Employment Specialist I to support individuals with disabilities in preparing for, securing, and maintaining competitive employment. This role includes job development, assessments, job coaching, and follow-up services for individuals referred by OVR, school districts, and community agencies. The position may also provide occasional support as a substitute instructor in Transition School.

The Employment Specialists responsibilities are:

• Provide job development, job coaching, and career counseling.
• Conduct vocational assessments and complete all required documentation.
• Assist participants with rsums, applications, interviews, transportation, and workplace onboarding.
• Build relationships with employers and advocate for participants.
• Maintain timely case notes and meet agency communication standards.
• Teach pre-vocational or independent living classes as needed.

Position Requirements:

Bachelors degree in education, rehabilitation, psychology, social work, counseling or other social/human service preferred. Associates degree accepted with 3 years of relevant and related experience.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in teaching, counseling or working with individuals with disabilities strongly preferred.
