Founded in 2017 by a team of seasoned entrepreneurs, Compose.ly has grown into a profitable, self-funded startup, thriving on grit, innovation, and a relentless focus on client success. We're in growth mode, and we're looking for entrepreneurial-minded individuals to join our team and help shape the future of digital marketing.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Client Services with a strong background in content marketing and SEO strategy to lead and grow our client-facing Account Management team. This executive position reports directly to the CEO and is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a leader who can drive client retention while also getting into the details of account management. If you thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment, are passionate about client success and content marketing, and are eager to mentor a team, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships by understanding their business goals, industry landscape, and competitive challenges. As Director of Client Services, you'll act as a trusted advisor to the rest of the team, providing strategic guidance and insights to drive client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with clients and our SEO team to create and execute data-driven marketing strategies that deliver measurable results. Collaborate cross-functionally to keep the customer at the center of all decision-making. Create an environment where innovative ideas can thrive.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Client Services team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment. Be prepared to dive into the details of client accounts, joining calls, and directly influencing outcomes to ensure client success.
  • Campaign Oversight: Manage the execution of SEO and content marketing campaigns for our clients, ensuring deliverables meet the highest quality standards, are on time, and within budget.
  • Performance Management: Set and manage team quotas, track key performance metrics, and report regularly to the executive team. Ensure alignment with company goals and client retention objectives.
  • Service Development: Collaborate with Sales and Delivery teams to refine service offerings and develop new services that enhance client retention and satisfaction.
  • Growth Potential: Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth within existing client accounts. Proactively support new business development initiatives to expand the agency's client base.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in client services or account management within a creative or marketing agency, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Proven track record in managing client relationships and driving business growth.
  • Strategic and Tactical Thinking: Ability to think strategically and also get hands-on with account details when necessary.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Passion for Marketing: Deep curiosity and passion for content marketing and SEO, with a commitment to staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

Why Compose.ly?

  • Benefits: Competitive medical, dental, and vision plans; Life & disability insurance; 401k retirement plan; Unlimited PTO; 13 paid holidays.
  • Culture of Inclusion: At Compose.ly, we value diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strive to ensure everyone is supported equitably and feels free to bring their full selves to work. We celebrate balance, belonging, and the intersectionality of our team members' identities and embrace the richness it brings to our culture and our thinking.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Join a fast-growing startup where your contributions have a direct impact and there's a clear path to leadership and career development.

If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for client success and a background in content marketing and SEO, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now to join our team and help shape the future of Compose.ly's and our clients' success.
