Director Of Business Development, Freight Forwarding

(Warehousing Services, Freight Forwarding & Transportation)

Location is Remote, travel 20%

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for winning and retaining new business in the Life Sciences (Bio Pharma) and Specialty Chemical industry. The Director will develop compelling solution proposals for selling company services and develop relationships with target customers. The Director will formulate and execute strategies to penetrate new customers, while also expanding relationships and selling opportunities in newly acquired customers. The Director will need to develop and foster relationships at senior levels of Life Sciences and Specialty Chemical companies to understand the target customer’s issues

and offer the appropriate solution. The Director will need to collaborate internally across various company functions to develop and successfully sell solutions.

Primary Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Accountable for driving increased revenue with new and existing customers in the Life
  • Sciences and Specialty Chemical industry
  • Penetrate assigned target customers by selling warehousing, domestic transportation, and freight forwarding
  • Build long-term, strategic account plans to target and grow both new and existing Life
  • Sciences and Specialty Chemical customers
  • Build, close, and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities by keeping the CRM system
  • current with accurate data
  • Drive value for Rinchem and customers through meetings and quarterly business reviews
  • Partner and collaborate with multiple business functions and leadership to create seamless execution of account plans

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated sales experience in winning new customers at a high level of annual revenue
  • Deep experience in selling warehousing, domestic transportation, or freight forwarding
  • Strong background and expertise in the Life Sciences (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, etc.)
  • Ability to gain customer trust and respect and create strong customer relationships at the senior level
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving techniques while
  • exercising sound judgement
  • Ability to create win-win solutions for the organization and our customers
  • Proven experience in collaborating with internal customers when navigating sales contracts and customer issues

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or other related field
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Logistics with experience in the Life Sciences or Chemical industry

Communication Skills:

  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate accurately and concisely.

Computer Skills:

  • Salesforce or similar CRM software Experience required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with winning and managing large customer accounts in the Transportation market
  • Ability to effectively communicate, maintain relationships and negotiate with customers.
  • Experience in the following areas: Dedicated Fleet, International Freight Forwarding, Transportation Management, and/or Warehousing
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic selling techniques, including previous experience in articulating/presenting multiple products and services to executives both verbally and written
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

Compensation:

  • Significant Base Salary commensurate with experience (Target is $160-$190K based on demonstrable sales success and experience.)
  • Very Lucrative and achievable bonus/commission structure with no caps. “A” Players will achieve significant earnings!
