Requirements of the DT - Dialysis Technician
- MUST have DT certification in the state of Ohio
- MUST hold a current CPR Certification
- MUST be authorized to Work in the US without Sponsorship
Responsibilities of the DT - Dialysis Technician
- Obtains and documents pre-dialysis vital signs to include weight and temperature Inspects patient’s dialysis access and inserts needed and initiates dialysis according to unit protocol and patient prescription
- Prepares dialysate according to established procedures and patient’s prescription
- Measures, calculates and adjusts blood flow rates according to established protocols and prescription
- Administers anticoagulant according to unit protocols and prescription
- Changes fluid removal rate and patient position and administers Normal Saline as directed by RN, ALP order or unit protocol
