Data Analyst to support the
III Corps at Fort Cavazos, Texas by managing and analyzing critical statistics related to
harmful behaviors , including
fatalities, suicides, sexual violence, substance abuse, and family violence . This role involves compiling and interpreting data, creating comprehensive reports, and ensuring leadership has accurate insights for decision-making and media inquiries.
Key Responsibilities - Analyze data on harmful behaviors (e.g., suicides, fatalities, sexual violence, substance abuse, family violence) to identify trends, patterns, and risk factors.
- Develop and implement data collection and analysis methodologies to enhance accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and ensure data integrity .
- Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings to command leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of prevention programs and initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement in intervention strategies and propose evidence-based solutions .
- Serve as the liaison for DEOCS data , ensuring proper management, interpretation, and reporting.
- Stay informed on research, advancements, and best practices related to harmful behaviors and prevention strategies.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Essential Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Public Health , or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and statistical software .
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques to present complex information effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and interpretation .
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment .
Desired Experience Two- three plus years of experience in:
- Conducting statistical analysis and interpreting results.
- Working with harmful behavior statistics (suicide, sexual violence, substance abuse, family violence, etc.).
- Utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel) for reporting and presentations.
- Researching and implementing prevention strategies and initiatives .
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve intervention and support programs.
- Basic coding experience in Python or R to assist with data analysis and automation.
