Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining campus facilities in a safe and efficient manner through the following duties:
1.Cleans building spaces through daily assignment.
2.Vacuums classrooms, hallways, furniture, and common areas.
3.Cleans bathrooms.
4.Dusts assigned areas.
5.Washes windows.
6.Cleans tables.
7.Removes trash and recyclables and disposes of in proper receptacles.
8.Sweeps and mops floors.
9.Buffs, strips, and waxes floors.
10.Monitors supplies levels in custodial closets.
11.Participates in all required safety and occupational training.
12.Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
13.Ensures compliance with all College rules and policies.
14.Assists other departments as required.
15.Other duties as assigned.
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
•Experience: Prior custodial experience preferred. Employment experience in a college or university setting is preferred.
•Proficiencies: Ability to work well with others throughout the campus community.
•Scheduling Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule during inclement weather, and special events that may require evening, Saturday and Sunday work hours.
•Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move up to a maximum of 50 lbs. The physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to: climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting and sitting.
•Other Requirements: The worker will be subject to dust, noise, fumes, and odors. The worker will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. Safety equipment will be provided where needed and required to be worn or used

This is a non-exempt (hourly), overtime eligible position; Grade 104 (pay scale:$15.82-$25.32/hr). The hourly rate for the position based on budget is $15.82/hr . Applicants initial salary placement is based on internal equity and relevant candidate experience.
Schedule: 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (25 hours a week); day shift.
