About the Role
As a Cost Accountant, you'll be the go-to expert for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on all costs associated with our manufacturing processes, products, and operations. You'll dive deep into our ERP system, uncovering insights and explaining any inconsistencies related to work in progress and transactions. You'll then compile your findings into clear and concise reports, sharing your knowledge with teams across the organization. What You'll Do
Analyze ERP system transactions to understand their impact on financial performance.
Oversee the creation of Item Masters, Bills of Materials (B.O.M.), and Production Routings.
Evaluate Work In Progress to ensure accurate allocation of labor and materials, proactively analyzing variances (material usage, purchase price, freight).
Execute month-end system closing transactions and reconcile General Ledger accounts.
Monitor capital expenditures and assist with monthly depreciation entries.
Manage inventory, including monitoring levels, standard cost changes, discrepancy reconciliation, weekly cycle counts, and the annual physical inventory process.
Prepare and present financial reports, cost analysis reports, and other management reports.
Maintain data integrity within the ERP system, supporting all departments with data updates.
Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to gather data, analyze cost drivers, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Provide support and guidance to the finance team.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with increasing responsibility.
Deep understanding of ERP systems and cost accounting functions.
Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, or other analytics tools (preferred).
Experience reading and writing M or SQL code (preferred).
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Availability for overtime work during month-end close.
What We Offer
Competitive Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 per year.
