Job Description

SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬ Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site inspections of buildings and infrastructure to assess damage and compliance with construction codes and FEMA guidelines.
  • Document and report inspection findings, identifying areas requiring repair, reconstruction, or further evaluation.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations during disaster recovery efforts.
  • Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage inspection records and maintain transparency.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and program delivery managers to address compliance issues.
  • Provide technical input for determination memorandums and appeals related to building and construction standards.
  • Stay updated with FEMA training requirements and industry.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Must meet state licensure or certification requirements where applicable.
  • Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
    • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
    • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
    • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
    • IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
    • IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
    • 7116: Program Delivery Manager
    • 7117: Site Inspection
  • Proficiency in inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Work onsite in North Carolina.
  • EOD Required.
