Job Description

SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬ Responsibilities

Perform on-site inspections of buildings and infrastructure to assess damage and compliance with construction codes and FEMA guidelines.
Document and report inspection findings, identifying areas requiring repair, reconstruction, or further evaluation.
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations during disaster recovery efforts.
Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage inspection records and maintain transparency.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and program delivery managers to address compliance issues.
Provide technical input for determination memorandums and appeals related to building and construction standards.
Stay updated with FEMA training requirements and industry.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in a related field.
Must meet state licensure or certification requirements where applicable.
Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
Proficiency in inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting.
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Work onsite in North Carolina.
EOD Required.
