About the Role:
We're looking for a dedicated Clinical Research Budget Coordinator II to join our team! In this role, you'll develop detailed budgets for a variety of clinical trials, including those sponsored by industry, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and investigator-initiated research. You'll play a crucial role in assessing resource needs, negotiating budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Development: Create comprehensive budgets for clinical trials and research projects. Work with investigators and ancillary departments to estimate costs and determine resource needs.
- Protocol Evaluation: Review research protocols to identify standard-of-care versus research-related costs and correctly classify expenses.
- Budget Negotiation: Negotiate budgets and payment terms with industry sponsors. Ensure final budgets are accurate and align with project requirements.
- Account Monitoring: Track study accounts to ensure expenses are within limits, reconcile accounts, and manage invoicing. Address any discrepancies or surpluses as needed.
- Financial Oversight: Invoice sponsors, handle patient research billing, and track payments. Resolve any queries related to invoices or payments.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to evaluate performance, project probabilities, and provide recommendations to influence business results.
- Reporting: Prepare and present data, reports, and updates to investigators and management.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and local agencies, including the FDA and Institutional Review Board (IRB). Conduct Medicare coverage analysis and review protocol amendments.
- Training and Improvement: Provide training to other staff, coordinate strategies to enhance existing procedures, and identify opportunities for quality and performance improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical research is also required.
