Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Hematology & Oncology , is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
- To collect and record preliminary data for clinical research programs.
- To recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
- To schedule visits according to research protocols.
- To assist in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
- To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Works independently to obtain, abstract, and code complex clinical information from multiple sources (medical records, research records, etc.) for research subjects.
- Captures subject information into various study specific data capture systems (electronic and paper). Information reviewed may include, but is not limited to treatment records, clinical and radiographic evaluations, diagnostic test results, and records of surgery.
- Supports principal investigators and the research team with administrative activities such as the addition of references for papers, paper formatting and paper submission to journals.
- Supports the day-to-day execution of clinical trials from start up to close out.
- Ensures adherence to compliance with established standard operating protocols (SOPs), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Internal Review Board (IRB) and FDA and other applicable regulatory requirements in the execution of clinical trials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
