Property and Liability Claims Adjuster

Phoenix AZ (Local candidates only)

Staff Augmentation Full-Time 40 hrs/week

Day 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

The Property and Liability Claims Adjuster will manage high-exposure politically sensitive claims and lawsuits filed against the State of Arizona. These include cases such as bad faith medical malpractice highway design DES/CPS care custody and control employment auto liability personal injury fatalities serious physical injury constitutional rights violations and large property losses. The role also involves pursuing subrogation recoveries owed to the state.

This position requires advanced investigative analytical and negotiation skills to evaluate complex claims prepare litigation reports and collaborate with the Attorney Generals Office to resolve lawsuits in the best interest of the State.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 30% Analyze investigative materials to determine liability and settlement values; document and obtain physical evidence.
  • 25% Determine coverage and conduct factual investigations including interviews and recorded statements.
  • 15% Research and apply relevant tort contract and case law; prepare claims for litigation.
  • 10% Collaborate with the Attorney Generals Office during discovery and deposition preparation.
  • 10% Prepare cost-benefit analyses; secure independent experts and negotiate settlements.
  • 10% Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • 4 years of claims experience
    • 3 years in property and liability claims
  • Skills:
    • Strong investigative and negotiation skills
    • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Licenses (Preferred):
    • Arizona Adjuster License
