Chief Partnership Officer

The Network’s mission is to defeat trafficking networks. Our current target, the illicit massage industry, is one of the largest forms of organized exploitation in the US with thousands of storefronts exploiting tens of thousands of vulnerable women from East Asia. Our diverse team leverages skills honed in the intelligence community, data analytics, financial services, and victim service provision. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Northern Virginia and work with partners across the United States. We provide partners with data, intelligence, and tactics to disrupt trafficking in illicit massage businesses (IMBs). Our solution is to attack the business model because trafficking exists for only one reason: it makes money. 

The  Chief Partnership Officer (CPO)plays a pivotal role in The Network’s mission by identifying and activating strategic partnerships with state and local government agencies, especially Attorney Generals and District Attorneys nationwide. The CPO will pitch and negotiate partnerships, oversee the training and support of partners, and ensure alignment with The Network’s goals and strategies. Importantly, the CPO will be a key architect and executor of our overarching partnerships strategy that will scale our impact.

Reporting to the President , the Chief Partnership Officer should be a strategic leader who thrives on building transformative partnerships to combat human trafficking within the illicit massage industry. We seek a skilled professional with a proven track record in partnership management or business development, ideally within the realms of sales, politics, or law enforcement. The ideal candidate is adept at fostering collaborative relationships with senior decisionmakers, elected, or appointed officials, as well as other key stakeholders nationwide, to implement our tactics against the industry. They should possess exceptional leadership skills to inspire and manage the Partners Team, ensuring partners receive the necessary training and support to effectively implement anti-trafficking tactics. 

The Role

Strategic Leadership

  • Ensure partnerships align with the organization’s overall goals and drive the integration of partner-related strategies into various departments. 
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to foster internal buy-in and synergy for partnership initiatives. 
  • Oversee implementation of effective tactics that lead to the closure of IMBs.
  • Lead and empower a small high-performing team.

Partner Development and Regional Expansion

  • Identify and prioritize potential partners among Attorney Generals and District Attorneys across the United States.
  • Develop and implement strategies for regional partnership expansion.
  • Set targets for partnership acquisition and tactical implementation.
  • Develop compelling pitches and presentations to secure partnerships, outlining the benefits and impact of collaboration with The Network.
  • Negotiate relationships with partners to ensure alignment on tactical implementation to achieve mutual goals.
  • Represent The Network at conferences, forums, and other networking events to expand partner network and visibility.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in law enforcement, government agencies, and advocacy groups to advance partnership objectives.
  • Manage and optimize the partnership pipeline, ensuring efficient progress from acquisition to activation.

Other Details

  • You must be willing to undergo The Network’s standard professional background check.
  • Because we put a high premium on in-person interaction to build and maintain our culture, we will require regular travel to Arlington, VA for in-person meetings, including quarterly “Team Weeks”.
  • The position may require up to 20% travel.
