Job Description

You will join an engineering methods development team that works collaboratively within the Ceramic Matrix Composite product development teams. In this role, you will bring proven expertise to craft parametrizing designs in a CAD package (UG-NX), set up composite structures of complex shapes for downstream finite element analysis, and automate the map out of the entire design space & options. This will utilize an understanding of manufacturing limitations, and require the selection of appropriate weave/lay-up architectures.

Other responsibilities include the demonstration of the automated workflow, documentation, and creation of engineering standard work. You will also train engineers from the product development teams for adoption and transfer of the methods developed.

 

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering/Science. Similar fields will be considered.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering/Science. Similar fields will be considered
  • 3+ years of design, composites, structures, or durability engineering experience
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Ceramic Matrix Composite materials
  • 5+ years of experience in design, structures, composites, or durability
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools such as ACE or Six Sigma
  • A desire to lead and enable transformation within the organization
