Job Summary:
As a CDL Driver, you are tasked with the safe delivery and pickup of a variety of equipment, tools, and/or supplies to both customer job sites and internal customers. This position requires safe driving in variety of settings and conditions. This role requires excellent customer service as you are a direct representative of the company, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the rental process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pickup and Delivery
- Ensure the proper equipment is safely secured and loaded during for both pickup and delivery to and from customer jobsite.
- Work closely with dispatch to ensure the correct items are being delivered to correct jobsites.
- Deliver equipment, parts, and supplies as needed to other Leppo locations.
- Documentation
- Maintain daily logs, vehicle inspection reports, pre/post inspection, and ensure the safe operation of your vehicle.
- Ensure proper signatures and documents are obtained during delivery and pickup.
- Reconcile truck documents including DOT documents (i.e. Logbook and Pre-trip Inspections Sheets).
- Customer Service
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while interacting with the customer.
- Familiarize customers with the safe operation of equipment.
- Safety & Compliance
- Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Advise management of any unsafe conditions and ensure that vehicles are properly maintained (annual, frequent inspections).
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record
Clearinghouse completion of FMCSA
Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical background.
Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment
Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills
Superior customer service and teamwork skills
Safety oriented.
