Job Title: CDL Class A Truck Driver

JOB DESCRIPTION. Summary/Objective

Client is currently seeking a CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. The Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering paint from our warehouse to distribution locations in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Essential Functions:

1. Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport goods to customer locations.

2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, documenting any issues and reporting them to the appropriate supervisor.

3. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, including hours of service regulations.

4. Maintain accurate records of routes, deliveries, and customer interactions.

5. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers, addressing any concerns or issues in a courteous and professional manner.

6. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate and efficient loading and unloading of goods (you do not load or unload, there is a team to do it for you).

7. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the vehicle is clean and fueled for each shift.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Overnight trips may be required on occasion.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

1. Valid CDL Class A license

2. Clean driving record - Clean Background - No Felonies

3. Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations and safety standards

4. High school diploma or equivalent

5. HAZMAT Endorsed preferred but not necessary

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)

2. Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time

3. Ability to climb in and out of the truck cab and trailer

4. Ability to safely operate equipment and tools

Benefits

· Daily Fixed Rate - $165.58 to start PLUS Mileage pay (below), negotiable pending experience and market conditions.

· 3- Tier Mileage Pay - .22, .25, .30, .32 pending miles driven and entry experience level.

· 3% performance bonus - based on no speeding violations, preventable accidents, and clean DOT inspection. This ties performance pay to safety.

· Employee Bonus - Eligible for up to $1400 pending company performance.

· Benefits - Eligible from first day of employment: includes medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401k

Additional Rates:

· Tarped Load Premium -$80.00 paid on any revenue-based load (non-EF loads) included w/regular payroll

· Forklift Assist Premium - $40.00 per load (exclusive to Salem Oregon) included w/ regular payroll

· Clean DOT Inspection -$50.00 – paid per clean inspection

Driver Training:

· $500 per occurrence - This is typically used for unique or one-off occasions when the new hire is a qualified driver but lacks the necessary experience specific to flatbeds. The trainer accompanies the new hire on all loads and provides training in the following areas: Road Test, Legal Weight Requirements, strapping, use of chains, v-boards, tarping, and freight securement. This training is not normally needed as we seek to hire fully experienced flatbed CDL drivers. ( Not to be published ).

· Special Projects - $330 per day for Special Projects/Local Assignment: Tasks under this pay category are necessary and required but limit the miles our CDL Employees can drive thereby reducing mileage pay. (See above drivers are paid daily rate and miles).
