Summary:
Performs diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.Responsibilities:
When ordered, prepares and administers ultrasound enhancing agents (UEA) and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes in status as thorough comprehensive preliminary report of study data to Physician staff.Reviews patient history and physicians orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.May have to travel to satellite locations to perform diagnostic procedures.Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.Competencies:

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience: One (1) year experience imaging congenital heart defect and surgical repair at an accredited ICAEL institution. * Joe DiMaggio Preference: In lieu of one year of experience, will accept new grads (within 1 year of graduation).Other Information: * Appropriate Florida State Licensure depending on modality of supervision. Obtain American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) RDCS (AE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) RCS Credential within six months of hire.Must have reliable transportation for roles supporting Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital.Additional Education Info: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.Additional Credential Info: ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) RCS CredentialWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:
