Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer

Location: Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 (Hybrid 3 days a week)

Duration: 6-month contract with potential for FTE conversion

Rate : $80 to $90/hr on w2

Overview:

AWS Cloud Engineer to support the design and engineering of our cloud infrastructure using HashiCorp's suite of tools. This role is ideal for an experienced technical professional with deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and security automation. The successful candidate will contribute to expanding and enhancing our existing cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain Terraform modules for AWS, GCP, and Oracle to provision and manage multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Automate machine image creation and deployment using Packer .
• Integrate HashiCorp tools into CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure deployment, testing, and compliance validation.
• Manage Vault for centralized secrets management and encryption-as-a-service.
• Define and enforce Sentinel policies to maintain security and architectural compliance across Terraform Cloud/Enterprise.
• Collaborate with technology teams to design and implement target-state cloud architecture using HashiCorp best practices.
• Conduct POCs and feasibility studies for new technologies and tooling.
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance , costs, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues , identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain uptime and stability.
• Document cloud architecture, processes, and automation strategies for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with cloud trends and HashiCorp product roadmaps to continually improve infrastructure solutions. Required Skills & Experience:
• 3+ years supporting mission-critical infrastructure , including 2+ years in cloud network management .
• Proficiency in scripting : Bash, Python, NodeJS.
• Terraform (2+ years), Packer and Vault (1+ year).
• Strong knowledge of AWS core services : IAM, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes, DynamoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines , Git, and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Troubleshooting and system testing skills.
• Preferred: JavaScript frameworks , RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, AWS extended services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, ElastiCache), cloud templating/automation , and AWS Certification .
