What You'll Do:

 

We're looking for a serious card game enthusiast to help us build the future of Digital Magic!

  • Analyze and assess upcoming tabletop content, with an eye toward translating designs and mechanics to a digital space.
  • Document and define the features required to support the upcoming content, communicating the requirements across multiple disciplines, with a special focus on edge cases and unintended outcomes.
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary implementation team through development and iteration on features, including working with production to scope, prioritize, and schedule and working with programmers, artists, other designers, and QA to deliver on that plan.
  • Post-launch, evaluate the feature’s performance and develop plans to adjust problematic areas and improve on successes.
  • Represent DGD as an expert on gaming industry trends, technical aspects of game design, and Magic gaming consumer needs.
  • Delivers analysis to and receives input from design partners in digital and tabletop to improve the experience of Magic players in all spaces.
  • Collaborates with engineers and artists to clarify and iterate on design throughout the implementation process.

 

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Proven professional experience with interaction design and working cross-disciplinarily on game teams.
  • Familiarity and affinity for Magic: The Gathering’s or other card games.
  • Strong player-centric design to ensure we delight an ever-expanding, diverse audience of passionate players.
  • Passion for tackling complex, layered problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A curiosity about developing positive relationships with members of Studio X and build a strong understanding of their processes.

 

Nice to Have:

 

  • Experience with Magic: The Gathering Arena's gameplay and systems.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

 

  • Starting Pay Range: $57,900
  • Pay Range End: $110,600
