In the capacity of Associate General Counsel - Private Equity and Investment Management based in New York, you will assume a central role in supporting two registered investment advisers dedicated to private equity fundraising and investing. Your daily responsibilities will encompass delivering insightful legal counsel on fund formation matters, negotiating pivotal agreements with various stakeholders, collaborating with compliance professionals on policy formulation, assisting in the introduction of new investment products, advising on mandates alongside internal teams and external counsel, conducting research into pertinent regulatory issues, supporting senior management through clear articulation of legal considerations, participating in cross-functional initiatives requiring advanced regulatory acumen, and remaining informed about industry developments. Success in this post will be defined by your ability to provide practical solutions to complex challenges whilst nurturing robust relationships across business units.
Key Requirements:
To excel as an Associate General Counsel - Private Equity and Investment Management, you will bring substantial experience acquired at a leading law firm where you have addressed complex matters related to private equity or institutional asset management. Your academic credentials will include a Juris Doctor degree complemented by deep familiarity with key securities legislation such as the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. You are adept at managing competing priorities under demanding timelines due to your exemplary organizational skills. Your precision ensures accuracy in every undertaking. Effective communication is one of your hallmarks-whether engaging with senior leaders or collaborating across functions-and your resourcefulness allows you to navigate intricate legal landscapes independently or as part of a supportive team.
