Armed Security Guard Location: Newport Beach/Santa Ana $20-22 an hour Job Type: Full-Time with many opportunities for Overtime
Hours: 40 + OT
Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday
Wednesday - Thursday: 7:30am - 6:00pm
Friday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday & Sunday: VARIES , Day to Swing schedule ***PLEASE do not apply to this postion unless you can commit to all days and shifts of this position****

Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team as an Armed Security Guard. As an Armed Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated areas by conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and deterring criminal activity at religious institutions. This role requires a strong commitment to public safety, excellent judgment, and the ability to handle potentially dangerous situations with professionalism and discretion.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas to detect and deter criminal activity, vandalism, or other security threats.
- Enforce laws, ordinances, and company policies to maintain order and protect property.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and other security systems to identify suspicious behavior or potential security breaches.
- Interact with the public, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and complaints, documenting findings and preparing detailed reports for further action.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and other stakeholders as necessary to address security concerns and maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain proficiency in the use of firearms, defensive tactics, and other law enforcement techniques through regular training and practice.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing law enforcement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications :
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- BSIS issued Guard Card and Exposed Firearm Permit required
- Minimum of one year of experience in law enforcement, security, or military service, with a demonstrated ability to handle firearms safely and effectively.
- Must have a duty belt, level 3 duty holster, level 3A body armor, and your own firearm.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- No history of felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses.
- Must have 1 out of the 3: Baton cert, OC Spray cert, or Taser cert.
