Job Description

The Apprentice Technician is responsible for performing minor repairs and limited preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, under the direct supervisor of the senior maintenance personnel. The Apprentice Technician works as a member of the Liberty Waste & Recycling team and reports to the Liberty Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform minor repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services
• Completes paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program (Whip Around) documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times
• Assists Diesel Technician B, Senior Diesel Mechanic A and other maintenance personnel with equipment repairs, adjustments and other project work
• Washes vehicles and equipment
• Assists with service calls for breakdowns
• Conduct daily inspections and safety checks on vehicles
• Assists senior mechanics in completion of project work
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and other safety standards
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US
• Valid driver license
• No prior mechanic experience required
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position as needed with or without reasonable accommodations, including but not limited to lifting items over 20 lbs
