Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Engineer for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field with 5 years of professional experience or 3 years with a related Master’s degree
Moderate to advanced software development skills in LabWindows CVI™, TestStand™, and LabVIEW™
Experience with scripting and MATLAB™ is a plus
Experience working with Test Stations in a Production Environment
Knowledge of Test Engineering processes, documentation, and design assurance reviews
Experience developing and executing functional test procedures, software updates, validation plans, and calibration procedures
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Familiarity with fundamental electro-optical principles
High proficiency with Microsoft Office
Up to 20% domestic travel required
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, integrate, verify, and validate Interface Test Adapters (ITA), harnesses, and other test equipment
Integrate ITAs with common core test stations
Create and execute test plans and validation procedures
Support operation, calibration, and maintenance of test stations
Conduct root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions
Provide recommendations to manufacturing engineering for failed production units
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1–2 years experience with Power Electronics
2–4 years experience with Production
2–4 years experience with Electrical Testing
2–4 years experience with User Acceptance Testing
1–2 years experience with Validation Test Plans
1–2 years experience applying technical principles and general knowledge of related disciplines
1–2 years experience with Test Stations in a Production Environment
1–2 years experience with Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Familiarity with lab equipment: DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators
Experience troubleshooting test equipment and ITAs using schematics and documentation
Experience in electrical design (cable and circuit board design)
Ability to work independently and in team environments
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
